处

To dwell, abide; fix, decide, punish; a place, state. (sa) āyatana, 阿耶怛那, also tr. 入, place or entrance of the sense, both the organ and the sensation, or sense datum; hence the 十二處 twelve (sa) āyatana, i. e. six organs, and six sense data that enter for discrimination.
